The so-called regional annexes to the National RIS3 Strategy have been developed for the National RIS3 Strategy in the regions, which serve to complete the innovation system at the regional level, set region-specific and strategic application sectors in the region and identify interventions/projects responding to local conditions. Regional annexes to the National RIS3 Strategy are subject to approval by regional governments and are complemented by regional action plans, which contain key projects for the implementation of the strategy in the region.
The implementation of regional RIS3 strategies takes place not only with the support of programs at the national level, but also with the support of programs financed by regional self-governments (in the long term, in many regions such innovation or creative vouchers, etc. are financed at this level). The priorities of individual regions are described in the so-called regional cards (Annex No. 2 to the National RIS3 Strategy), which represent an extract of the basic data approved by regional RIS3 strategies.
